MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – An ex-Macon police officer accused of stealing a tractor was re-arrested Monday.
According to the Bibb County jail website, Troy Guidry was arrested Monday afternoon around 4:30 and charged with two counts theft by taking, two counts altered vehicle ID, and one count fiduciary theft.
He was released from jail on an $18,050 bond around 9:15 p.m.
Guidry and officer Jon Wantz were arrested last week for taking a tractor worth $25,000 from a local plumbing store. Both men were originally charged with theft by taking, criminal trespass, and violation of their oaths of office.
Chief Mike Burns said in a statement, "The actions of these officers is a grave disappointment to the entire MPD family and will not be tolerated by me or by our department."
Both officers have since resigned from the Macon Police Department.
