Written by Amanda Castro on . Posted in Local

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – College students spent Martin Luther King Jr. day volunteering their time fixing up a home.

Dozens of Mercer University students spent their day off chipping off paint, tearing down a broken porch, and cleaning out the inside of a home off Birch Street. It's part of the Fuller Center's Save a House/Make a Home program.

The vacant property was donated to the organization. It's now undergoing renovations and will become a home for a local family.

The Fuller Center for Housing is a faith-driven organization that works to provide homes for low-income families.
