MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) - Macon's Oktoberfest is coming back this year, and officials promise it will be bigger and better.

The Macon Beer Company unveiled it's new plan for the festival over the weekend. The Bavarian-themed fall festival will be a three-day event a featuring a bike race, a battle of the bands, and a home-brewing competition.

"For the following year's Oktoberfest, whoever wins the 2013 brew competition, their beer will be the beer of the event," said Macon Beer Company owner Cory Smith.

The Macon Beer Company plans to collaborate with other local organizations for the event and encourage more home brewers. Owner, Corey Smith said they are still working on the details for this year's headliner, but are looking into Collective Soul.
