MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) - The Macon-Bibb Animal Shelter is in dire need of adoptions. The facility has reached it's capacity and animals could face euthanasia if the community doesn't react.

"We are really desperate for help," said Kristal Mahoganey with the Macon-Bibb Animal Shelter, "a few of these dogs have been here for a while."

Mahoganey said the shelter has about 30 animals that are up for adoption, mostly dogs. She said the number of euthanasia ha been down but with the overflowing it's a possibility. Anyone interested in adopting a new furry friend is urged to stop by the shelter by Tuesday, January 8.
