MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) - Macon police have released a photo of the officer under investigation for shooting and killing a man outside a Kroger store on December 21st.
Officer Clayton Sutton has been placed on administrative leave while police conduct the internal investigation into the events leading up to the deadly shooting.
Sutton has a record of reprimands with the police department. Police say he shot and killed Sammie Davis, Jr. in the Kroger parking lot December 21st.
The killing has sparked a community outcry for justice, many questioning Sutton's use of deadly force, and comparing the case to the Trayvon Martin shooting death that happened in Florida last year.
