MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – NBA superstar Magic Johnson is bringing a charter school to Macon and registration is now open.

Johnson is teaming up with Provost Academy Georgia, a statewide charter high school district, to open Magic Johnson Bridgescape center.

Students who enroll will receive a blend of online learning and small group instruction. The program is free and is designed for students who have dropped out or are at-risk of dropping out of school. The center in Macon will be open for both morning and afternoon sessions run by Georgia-certified teachers.

Renovations are currently underway at the center that will be located at 3902 Northside Drive in Macon. It's expected to open this January.

PAGA opened the first Magic Johnson Bridgescape center in Atlanta this September.

The center is currently accepting students ages 14 to 20. For more information call 888-725-9501.
