Bibb County Commissioners received an update on the removal of old war weapons at Camp Wheeler, at Tuesday's meeting.
The investigation of the 14,000 acres started in October of last year. Project manager, Julie Hiscox, says so far the investigation has uncovered two live mortars and hundreds of practice mortars used at the former military site.
Field work for the project will finish up in April and then the land will be developed.
According to Hiscox, there are plans to develop an industrial park because of the convenience to the freeway.
