MACON, Georgia (41 NBC/WMGT) - Wells Fargo Bank gave Macon Area Habitat for Humanity a check for $20,000 Friday, as a part of the bank's annual Super Saturday volunteer day.
This is the third year the bank has donated money and volunteers for the non-profit organization. Each year a check has been presented to Macon Area Habitat for Humanity. With this latest gift, Wells Fargo has donated $70,000 locally. Across the state, Wells Fargo will provide some 500 volunteers to various community organizations, including Habitat for Humanity.
Local Wells Fargo representative, Brooke Phillips, says giving time and money, it what the organization is all about. "Part of our vision, and our value in Wells Fargo, is being a part of our communities. Showing our support for each team member to be out, and understand what it means to be in support of our rebuilds, our education, and then also just being a part of the whole entire Macon community and being a part of Habitat for Humanity," Phillips said.
35 volunteers from Wells Fargo will help build, paint, and revitalize homes in the Lynmore Estates neighborhood in Macon Saturday.
