MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) - The Medical Center of Central Georgia was honored for their dedication to keeping your kids safe on the roads.
The Georgia Traffic Injury and Prevention Institute held the annual 'Buckle Up' awards to honor men and women from all over the state who's work is centered around public safety. This year, three workers and the MCCG were honored for their work in chil safety.
The Director of Nursing in General Pediatrics at the MCCG, Cyndee Adams, says they offer free car seats and education about properly securing kids in cars.
"Personally, I think all of us in the children's hospital, we all share a passion for pediatrics, and we all share a passion for the kids of central Georgia and so this makes us able to do that, and so it's really an honor to be able to know that your work is being recognized," says Adams.
The Kohl's Kid Zone Program helps fund the training and the cost of car seats. This year, the MCCG was responsible for checking more than 70 car seats and giving away more than 40 to families in need.
