WARNER ROBINS, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) - The men and women of the Georgia National Guard Recruitment and Retention Battalion battled it out on the field today in the Iron Legion Games.
A three day training and team building event at Robins Air Force Base is aimed at helping these state-wide soldiers build their relationships with each other, and learn new techniques for recruiting.
This year, a little friendly competition was added into the schedule. The lineup included dodge ball,
volleyball, ultimate Frisbee, and tug-of-war. The winner of the games wins the bragging rights.
"We want to win! We want to hold the trophy for an entire year until we meet again," says Sergeant Oneka Lyles.
Many of the men and women say this training event brings out the camaraderie of the National Guard. It's a chance for them to spend time with what they consider their extended family.
