Milledgeville Woman Is Fatally Shot At Home

MILLEDGEVILLE, GA (41 NBC/WMGT)- Just after six this morning the Baldwin County Sheriffs Office received a 911 call about a suspected intruder in a home on Georgia Highway 24 East. EMA and deputies arrived on the scene and found it was not a suspect but a resident of the home that left for work eariler that morning and had returned for a reason that is unknown. A family memeber mistook the woman for an intruder and fatally shot her.
The woman was pronounced dead on the scene. The victim's name is not being released at this time.
