Sumer Sloan is on her way to Georgia Military College, and she will be playing softball to round out her academic career.
Sloan was surrounded by family, friends, and teammates as she signed her name on the dotted line, agreeing to be true to the Bulldogs in Milledgeville.
Sloan spent most of her high school career on the pitchers mound, but didn't shy away from trying to earn some runs while she was at bat. In 2011, her On Base percentage was .604 with 31 hits.
Sloan says she is a little bit nervous about playing at the next level, but she is also excited about moving on.
"I just hope I go out there, and I'm able to play and do good, and represent the school really good. I'm going to miss Hawkinsville, being a Red Devil. I'll always be a Red Devil!" Sloan laughs.
Sloan will likely play outfield or 2nd base for the Georgia Military College Bulldogs.
