It's no secret obesity is a growing concern in Middle Georgia. One organization is doing its part to try and put an end to this epidemic. President of Community Health Works, Greg Dent, was on 41NBC news at 6pm to talk moer about this plan.
Dent says Middle Georgia is above the state average for people who suffer from obesity. Community Health Works is doing its part to make a difference by getting a conversation going. The organization is brining communities together to talk about ways to reverse this trend. For example, Dent says some areas are opening school tracks to the public. Community Health Works is aiming to use existing resources and avoid spending money.
