Middle Georgia Residents Use App to Report Community Problems

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) - For all Middle Georgia residents who want to help improve neighborhoods, there's an app for that.
It's called SeeClickFix and it's a new way to report community problems in real-time online or with a smart phone. The City of Macon and Bibb County are both using it.
The free application allows users to report community problems anywhere at anytime right from their phones. People in the community can take a picture of their complaint and upload it online using the application. Once it's uploaded, users can describe the problem and the issue will immediately be reported to the Public Works Department.
The best part is users will be informed when the problem is fixed. City and county officials both say they hope this new app will help get people engaged in keeping the area clean while going green.
"They're the ones who are out there walking their neighborhoods, riding their bikes, driving their cars. They see the issues and the more we can see the issues, the more we can address them," says Macon Mayoral Spokesperson Chris Floore.
Grant Faulkner with Bibb County Information and Technology Services says going green is a priority.
"One of our many aims is to make things as green as possible in the city and the county," Faulkner said.
The SeeClickFix app is free and can be accessed on the computer, on the phone and on Facebook.
Floore says for those who may not be as computer savvy, the Macon Public Works Department will still take requests in person and on the phone.
