Like the rest of the state, Houston County needs residents to conserve their water. The county is asking you to only water your yard between 4p.m. and 10 a.m. It's a statewide effort that will go into effect in January.
At the Houston County Commission meeting, Tuesday, residents voiced concern about the new watering times and how the law will be enforced.
There are 13 exceptions to the watering times. You can water outside that allotted time slot if you're working with crops and livestock or using storm water run-off.
And you can water your food gardens and any type of athletic or golfing fields.
