NEW YORK (AP) - Television viewers are responding with keen interest to the first wave of programming surrounding the 50th anniversary of President John F. Kennedy's assassination.
Programs about Kennedy's life and death have drawn strong ratings from the Nielsen company, even before Friday's official anniversary date.
The National Geographic Channel set a ratings record for its network with its "Killing Kennedy" special. CNN's special more than doubled its typical audience for a weeknight.
Four programs on CBS and PBS all exceeded the networks' typical viewership, as did a Fox News Channel show on doubts about the investigation into Kennedy's death.
