MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) -- Regina Davis announced Wednesday she's backing former opponent, Charles Jones, in the race for District 8.
Davis lost the September 17th election, sending Jones and Virgil Watkins into the run-off.
She believes Jones' commitment to working hard to address the needs and concerns of citizens is why he's the right man to lead District 8.
Davis also added she was impressed Jones reached out to her to ask for support.
"The main reason is cause Reverend Jones was humble enough to ask me for the endorsement and after much, many hours of discussion with him, I feel like he's the person who has the needs and concerns of the people in mind," said Davis.
Jones was happy to have the support, and also told 41NBC why he's the man who deserves your vote.
"I can promise you one thing, I'll call you back. I can promise you that I'm responsive, I'm respectful," said Jones.
The run-off election is October 15th. Early voting starts on Saturday, October 5th.
