MACON, Ga. (41NBC/WMGT) - Bibb County's former Democratic Party chairman announces he'll run for a seat on the new, consolidated government.

25-year-old Danny Glover tells us he'll run for the District 3 seat on the new county commission.

He says this county has several issues that need to be fixed, and with the help of the community, he thinks those issues are fixable.

"Macon, Georgia is that city upon a hill," says Glover.  "East Macon can be that guiding light which leads way to more jobs, safer neighborhoods and more economic prosperity for all of us.  Today, the odds are upon us as we build and sculpt a new government."

Glover says over the next few months, he'll put together a comprehensive plan that lays out which of the county's issues to attack first.

His announcement comes just a week after Macon City Council member Elaine Lucas announced she's running for the District 3 seat.
