Macon Councilman Ed DeFore Running for Seat on Consolidated Government

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) - After more than 40 years on Macon City Council, Ed DeFore has announced he'll run for seat 6 on the new, consolidated government.

DeFore tells 41NBC his biggest concern is reducing the city's crime rate.

"The main thing is concentrating on giving the people the best of everything, but to make sure they're safe when they lay down at night and go to sleep without somebody breaking in," says DeFore.

DeFore tells us knowing he's serving the people is what keeps him going, and he feels like his experience on city council will benefit the new government.
