MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) - There was a party roaring on 486 Poplar Street on election night
as Bibb County Chair, Sam Hart, celebrated his re-election.
Friends and family were all out in full force at his celebration. Chairman Hart was in good spirits as he welcomed supporters into his headquarters to watch the results roll in, and watched the numbers rise in his favor.
"The fact that we have been able to track well, and run well throughout the entire community, I'm very pleased with that and I want to say thank you to the voters. Thanks for having confidence in me to get me one year to help make the transition into a new government," says Hart.
Hart took the seat by more than 40,000 votes, nearly twice the amount of his opponent Tom Wagoner who racked up nearly 22,000.
