MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) - In the race for the Bibb County School Board District 3 democratic nomination, incumbent Susan Sipe has come out on top.
She got 54% of the votes over Merritt Johnson's 46%.
Democrat Sipe will now face Republican Angela P. Freeman in November.
We tried to get in touch with Ms. Sipe to talk about her win, but we didn't hear back. We did speak with Mr. Johnson, who says despite his loss, he's proud of his campaign's effort.
"Well, it hasn't come to an end," says Johnson. "I'll always work hard for the kids. I'm going to go back with the children I mentor right now and continue my endeavors. We're going to get them next time."
