MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) - State senator Miriam Paris announces several key endorsements in her bid for re-election to the Georgia Senate, District 26 seat.
Friday at her headquarters in downtown Macon, she announced several organizations, including the Georgia Association of Educators, will back her in her upcoming run-off election.
Other organizations included Georgia's WIN List, Planned Parenthood of the Southeast and the National Association of Realtors.
Paris also picked up support from former opponent Irving Martinez, who finished third in the race for the district 26 seat in the July 31st primary.
"We sought his endorsement and he was more than willing to come and pull up to the plate and just help us out, so we really are happy to have his support," says Senator Paris. "It's all about building coalitions."
Paris will take on former state representative David Lucas in the run-off election for the senate seat on August 21st.
