MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) - A Bibb County Sheriff candidate officially kicked off his campaign Wednesday night and says if elected, his focus will be on the youth.
Albert Hall spoke to an energetic crowd at his headquarters at 690 Poplar Street.
He worked for the Bibb County Sheriff's Department for 28 years before he retired as a captain in 2008.
He's running for sheriff because he wants to make a lasting impact on local kids to keep them out of trouble with the law.
He tells 41NBC it's time for a change.
"It's time for Macon to get out of the box," says Hall. "It's no longer time to just take the top off the box but come out of the box with new innovative ideas, and it's time for us to do that and I am the person that can do that."
Hall's opponents are Chief Deputy David Davis and Bill Lucas. Advance voting started Monday, and Election Day is July 31st.
