MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) - 'Unity-N-Community' and 'Stop the Violence, Start the Music' came together Thursday night at the corner of Pio Nono Avenue and Eisenhower Parkway to get voters to register for next month's election.
The event featured free food, a live DJ and several guest speakers.
Of course, the main idea was to get people to register to vote at a table that was set up on the premises.
Organizers say it's essential for those that haven't registered to vote in next month's election to jump on board.
"If we don't vote we have no say-so whatsoever in what goes on in our city and our community," says L.J. Malone of 'Stop the Violence, Start the Music'. "It's extremely important that we vote so we can make a difference. A lot of things people complain about and say, 'Hey, I want this changed and that changed', but if they don't vote it won't matter."
The primary elections will be held on July 31st. To register to vote, CLICK HERE.
