"Incredible Kid Day" Delivers Letters to Bibb Students

Hundreds of Bibb County students will get handwritten letters of encouragement from adults in the community.

County leaders participated in the annual "Absolutely Incredible Kid Day" Monday.  It's a letter-writing event to inspire kids in Bibb County to make and achieve goals in school.  About 600 letters will be delivered to third and fifth graders in Title-one schools in Macon.

The event's organizer, LaTanya Lester with Community Partnership said, "It is a remarkably low-cost community service project...one that's priceless in terms of what it does for motivating and uplifting children and students in the schools we deliver letters to."

Bibb County Commission Chairman Sam Hart said, "It's up to all of us to make that kind of investment to save these kids, so we get them to be very positive citizens and inspire positive determination."

You don't have to be a county official to write an inspiring letter to a student in the community...Organizers are still receiving letters.  If you'd like to write a few, e-mail LaTanya Lester at LLester@co.bibb.ga.us.
