Big changes may be ahead for more than half of Bibb County's high schools.

Thirty seven high schools across the state, including four within Bibb County, have been selected to receive up to $2 million in federal grant money.  But, there's a catch. The funds come with strict requirements aiming at significantly raising student achievement, while replacing leadership at each of the schools.

Sylvia McGee, Acting Superintendent for Bibb Schools, tells 41 NBC News, "It's more personal strings than in is systemic strings.  That does effect individuals, and that makes it very very personal, and that makes it very very difficult, because overall people are doing a good job."

The Bibb County School District has set up an e-mail address for members of the community to give their input, or to ask any questions about the School Improvement Grants.  That address is:  improvementgrantinput@bibb.k12.ga.us.  A PowerPoint presentation about the federal grant can be found at www.bibb.k12.ga.us.
