Marshals seek deadly Conn. gas plant blast's cause
Connecticut fire marshals are preparing to start their investigation into an explosion that rocked an under-construction power plant where natural-gas lines were being tested, killing at least five people.
A dozen or more others were hurt in Sunday's blast at the Kleen Energy Systems plant in Middletown, about 20 miles south of
Hartford.
The powerful blast peeled off some of the metal sides of the plant and was heard and felt by people miles away.
Deputy Fire Marshal Al Santostefano says the investigation into what caused the explosion will begin Monday morning. He says search and rescue crews would be combing through the debris from the damaged plant but believed no one was missing amid the rubble.
The U.S. Chemical Safety Board says it's sending in a team of investigators from Colorado.
