New Shops Coming to Shoppes at River Crossing

One of Middle Georgia's largest shopping centers is growing,and adding stores at a time when many retailers are slowing growth.

The Shoppes at River Crossing in North Macon has signed a 20,000 square foot lease with Jo-Ann Fabric and Crafts. The store will be located in the former Circuit City space, and is expected to open this summer.

The Macon store will be the 13th in the state, and first in Middle Georgia.

Bill Baker, General Manager of The Shoppes at River Crossing, tells 41 NBC News, "They should be taking possession of the space sometime in March, and then opening in July.  It adds another niche to an already pretty strong merchandising plan."

Five new retailers, including Jo-Ann Fabric and Crafts, are either under construction, or coming soon to the center.  They include Motherhood Maternity, As Seen on TV, La Parrilla Mexican Restaurant, and Yankee Candle.
