9 A.M. and LIVE on the air at Central High School
The next generation of broadcasters may come from right here in Middle Georgia. That's due in part to a comprehensive program offered by the Bibb County School District.
41 NBC News got a behind the scenes look at the "Charger News Network."
Broadcasting and video production classes at Central High School are part of a Career, Technical, and Agricultural Education Program, an initiative offered across the Bibb County School District.
Central is home to the county's only digital TV production studio.
Sharon Joyner, Director of CTAE programs for the district, tells 41 NBC News, "Our goal in Career Tech education is to give these students an opportunity to prepare to be successful in their continued education when they leave high school, and also in their careers."
There are currently 27 different career focused programs across Bibb County, at the both the high school and middle school levels. The newest is an aerospace program, offered at Hutchings Career Center.
