As youth soccer programs continue to grow in popularity, so do the number of soccer-related injuries.

A report from The American Academy of Pediatrics finds injuries are most common in younger, pre-teen players.  Girls tend to get more knee injuries, while ankle problems affect more boys.  Concussions are another common injury among soccer players, but researchers say the risk of a head injury is comparable to other contact sports.
