Coliseum Medical Centers Offering Free Heart Valve Screenings

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) -- The Coliseum Heart Institute wants you to take care of your heart. Specialists at the Valve Center are offering free valve screenings Thursday from 2 to 4:30P.M.

The screenings can determine if you have a heart murmur and whether it may be a problem. Cardiologist Dr. Christopher Allen said, "One of the most common causes is valvular abnormalities so it can cause decrease energy and if you're not screened it can progress to where the damage can be irreversible."
