WARNER ROBINS, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) -- It's a family operation that's been serving the middle Georgia community for nearly a quarter century.
Owner of McCall's Tastes to Remember Ken McCall says, "It was actually a vision of my mother's...for the longest time she wanted to open a little lunch spot and this is what it's evolved into."
The McCall family left the Sunshine State for Robins Air Force Base and have called Warner Robins home for more than 40 years.
Weekly customer Alan Baylor says, "He's (Ken) a real champion for this particular part of Warner Robins."
When it comes to creating menu items, McCall and his mother Karen aren't afraid to sprinkle in their Florida roots.
"We draw a lot of our influences from the Tampa area with the cultural mix there," says McCall.
However, the locals don't seem to mind where the influence comes from.
"I would say I come to McCall's pretty frequently, about three times a week at least so everyday if I can," says Tyler Bryant.
Another customer Tyler Barfield says, "It's just so good, the bread is nice and crispy and it goes perfect with the banana pudding cake."
Beverly Abney enjoys the grape nut chicken salad. She says, "This is just home cooking at it's best."
Customers all says it's a taste you're sure to remember.
