MILLEDGEVILLE, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) -- With a name that means "friends," it's no surprise the locals love Amici Italian Cafe.
"It's very appropriate for us because we consider all of our clients our friends," said Amici Business Director Phillip Joiner.
Ten years after Amici first opened it's doors in 1999, owners Jon Joiner and Jonathan Bob Ewing made it a priority to build customer relationships and perfect their pizza sauce.
Jon Joiner says, "We take two different tomato products, we take four or five different types of spices and put it together, we go through a process of blending it partially then mixing it, whisking it at different parts of the process."
Customers like Mary Jordan say they love the pizza. According to Phillip Joiner, the ingredient to being successful is simple.
"We do everything fresh in the kitchen, fresh ingredients, made to order," says Phillip.
The locals like the variety of items to choose from, the laid-back atmosphere and the live entertainment.
Al Weston says, "I think that the students like it a bunch, some of the acts they bring in for music - it really pushes the town."
Amici Italian Cafe is located at 101 W. Hancock Street in Milledgeville.
