PILOT CLUB OF MACON ANNOUNCES CAREGIVERS’ DAY EVENT
MACON, GA, JANUARY 31, 2009: The Pilot Club of Macon is proud to present Caregivers’ Day. This event will be held on Wednesday, March 10, from 9am-1pm at Vineville United Methodist Church. The cost is $20 per person, which includes lunch. Proceeds benefit those with brain diseases, disorders, and injuries. The event features complimentary massages, manicures, hand treatments, and gifts. Tickets should be purchased in advance by calling 478 960-2804.
Founded in 1921 in Macon, Georgia, Pilot International is a global organization of executive, business and professional leaders working together to improve the quality of life in communities throughout the world. Named after the Ocmulgee riverboat Pilots, the Pilot Club of Macon is the proud to be the first of over 500 Pilot clubs in five countries around the world. Our special service focus involves promoting awareness of brain-related disorders and helping those affected through volunteer activities, education, and financial support. Pilot International’s signature project is BrainMinders, Pilot’s public service campaign aimed at increasing awareness of brain injuries and ways to prevent them.
Pilots present programs in schools, day care centers, and other venues and have reached over 500,000 children around the world. Additional hands-on projects completed most recently by the Pilot Club of Macon include service to Project Lifesaver, Paws for Patriots with Southeastern Guidedogs, Operation Homefront, Hearts and Hooves Stables, Advocacy Resource Center, Georgia Artists with Disabilities, Alzheimer’s Memory Walk, Goodwill Nursing Home, Star Choices, Anchor Club at Hutchings High School, Brain Power Walk, Nintendo Wii at Cherry Blossom Nursing Home, Central Georgia Adult Literacy Program, and sponsoring of an at-risk elementary school and community center. The Pilot Club of Macon has also developed seminars for caregivers and those with brain-related injuries customized template as a document.
