Golden Globe Picks Help Sort Out Oscar Prospects

Today could turn out to be a big day for "Up in the Air," "The Hurt Locker", and "Precious."

The films are among those favored to get Golden Globe nominations due out this morning.

Possible acting nominees include Meryl Streep and George Clooney, along with Morgan Freeman for his turn as Nelson Mandela in "Invictus."

The 67th annual Globe awards are being handed out Jan. 17, six days before nomination voting closes for the Oscars.

The Globes are often seen as a bellwether for how Academy Awards nominations will play out.
