41NBC / WMGT-DT offers an educational opportunity for kids to get a behind the scenes view of what it takes to do a live weather report on television. We're looking for talented youth who would be comfortable delivering the weather forecast for our morning news broadcast, 41NBC News at Daybreak.
Together with 41NBC Meteorologist Samantha Smith, one lucky young person will share the weather forecast with our Middle Georgia viewers during the 6AM broadcast.
We'll choose one kid per month for KidsCast (winner the third week of each month). Kids up to 12 years old are invited to submit a short essay expressing their interest in forecasting weather and why they're the best person for the job!
We'll ask the "Kidscaster" to come to the 41NBC Forecast Center early in the morning (before school starts) for easy weather lessons and television training, prior to his/her broadcast debut.
