MOSCOW - A spokesman for Vladimir Putin says U.S. Vice President Joe Biden has invited the Russian prime minister to the U.S.
Dmitry Peskov says the two spoke on the phone Thursday, following up on Biden's visit to Moscow last month that was aimed at boosting economic cooperation.
Peskov said that Putin neither accepted nor rejected Biden's invitation because of complex schedule issues. It was unclear when any visit might take place.
Peskov also said Russia's much-awaited entry to the World Trade Organization was among the topics for conversation.
Biden said last month that Washington supports Russia's WTO accession because it will lead to greater trade between the two countries. Russia is the largest economy outside the trade body.
