Astronomy Family Day

The Museum of Arts and Sciences director of Public Relations, Jim Greenhouse was on the morning show to talk about Astronomy Family Day.  The 24-hour celebration of astronomy starts Friday evening, April 23rd from 7:00 pm to 8:00 pm in the museum's Planetarium and Observatory.

This weekend two organizations are coming together to make and preserve history. Saturday, April 17th, Central State Hospital and the Georgia Trust for Historic Preservation are holding a work day to help the Central State Hospital Museum.

Magnitude 6.9 Earthquake Rocks China

On Tuesday, April 13, 2010 at 7:49PM EDT [7:49AM in southern Qinghai, China] a massive 6.9 magnitude earthquake rocked parts of China. The epicenter of this earthquake was located about 1190 miles WSW of Beijing, China in southern Qinghai at a depth of 6.2 miles.

Overall, the population in this region resides in structures that are highly vulnerable to earthquake shaking, though some resistant structures exist.

Above Average 2010 Atlantic Hurricane Season

 

The Colorado State University forecast team predicts the 2010 Atlantic Hurricane Season will see more activity this year than last year. They based their finding from their belief that El Nino conditions are starting to subside.

'Tell Me Something Good' Event

The Greater Macon Chamber of Commerce is helping small businesses keep up with cutting edge technology with the Business to Business Expo next month.    

Jo Ann Roberts, the membership manager of the Chamber of Commerce and Rob Betzel, President of Infinity Network Solutions were on the morning show to talk about the event.

The 'Tell Me Something Good Event' is on May 13th and will kick off with an awards luncheon at noon.  At 1:00 the floor of the expo will open where businesses can introduce their products to other prospects.
