A very happy Friday to you!
I hope that you had a wonderful week and that you're ready for a great weekend ahead!
You'll want to have an indoor contingency plan if you've got outdoor plans Friday, Saturday or Sunday.
Abundant moisture, coupled with an upper level trough along the Appalachians will provide the focus for numerous scattered showers and thunderstorms in North and Middle Georgia today and tomorrow. Some storms could be strong to severe.
The primary hazard will be heavy rain with localized flooding, damaging winds, and frequent lightning. There's also the possibility of large hail.
The most likely time for severe thunderstorms will be this afternoon and evening. Isolated strong storms are also possible on Saturday.
Temperatures today will be in the low 90s, but with mainly cloudy skies, some of us may be stuck in the 80s. (After the heat we endured at the end of June and beginning of July, I don't see anyone complaining, though!)
Low 90s can also be expected for Saturday, but Sunday we'll inch closer to the mid 90s.
With the humidity factored in, expect it to feel warmer each day.
Into next week, high pressure will settle in. Expect mid to upper 90s beginning on Monday! The only rain chances we'll see next week will be primarily driven by the heat of the day.
Enjoy your weekend!
