MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Mardi Gras is coming to Macon! The College Hill Corridor will transform into the French Corridor for the annual Mardi Gras in Mercer Village event. Jessica Walden from College Hill Alliance stopped by 41 Today to tell us all about the festivities.
The event starts around lunch time on Tuesday, March 4 and it lasts through the evening.
Mercer Village restaurants will turn into pop-up style New Orleans style cafes and serve New Orleans classics, like crawfish, jumbaylaya, gumbo, po-boys, beignets, and hurricanes. You are encouraged to catch or bring your own beads for the local Colelge Hill Krewe parade.
There will also be a Jackson Square-style Macon Makers Market where local artisans and craftsmen are selling their wares.
