JEFFERSONVILLE, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Jeffersonville residents are gearing up for the second annual Harvest Festival.
Anticipation is building in downtown Jeffersonville.
Mayor Shannon Hart hopes the upcoming 2nd annual Harvest Festival has something for the entire family.
“It’s a community event. It’s almost a homecoming, people come from all over. It’s something for children. It’s a family focused, family centered, happy time for everybody,” Hart said.
She says the success of the first festival made the city want to do it again, along with beginning work on other projects downtown.
“It’s been seven years into the planning and making of the streetscape, and of course it started now during the Harvest Festival. We couldn’t be more pleased about the streetscape or about Harvest Festival, it’s really a good time for Jeffersonville,” Hart said.
Dozens of sponsors, like the ones on that list right there have paid for the entire festival, which means that it won’t cost the city of Jeffersonville a dime.
Sponsors’ participation has given the city the opportunity to focus on events and vendors.
It’s a year long process and Hart says it’ll be worth it.
There will be food, live entertainment and a 5K.
“We’ve got Jason Hobbs and friends, we’ve got Shane Bridges performing, and some other really local excellent entertainers…Seven Sharpe Nine, Deep Cuts, and Rex Marlow is doing our sound,” Hart said.
“On Sunday we’ve got our 2nd annual 5K run to the center. Jeffersonville, Twiggs County is the center of the state, and our 5K which is Run and See Georgia Sanctioned which means you get points. We’ll leave from Bullard Road, come through town go back. Run to the center second annual don’t miss it.”
