COCHRAN, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – A middle Georgia basketball team will play in the school’s first-ever state championship game on Friday.

Thursday night, fans turned out in droves to support the Bleckley County Royals boys basketball team.

The Royals have compiled a 28-3 record this season, and they’ve beaten three of the top five Class AA teams in the state on their way to the finals.

Tomorrow, they’ll face Class AA’s top ranked team: Greater Atlanta Christian.

“We’re looking forward to a great game,” says head coach, Clifford Kerbo.  “When you go in the coliseum, it’ll probably be painted purple and gold. It’s just been unbelievable here this week, so hopefully our team can play well and come out with a victory in the state championship.”

The game tips off Friday at 4:45 at the Macon Coliseum.
